Ungardening 101: Reconnecting Your Yard to Nature

Learn why we should reconsider the way we treat our yards, and the somewhat surprising history and substantial impacts of conventional landscaping ideals and aesthetics. From our plant choices to our fertilizer use, everything we do can have impacts on the ecosystems around us. Let’s question some of the assumptions that conventional landscaping and gardening make, and discover how ungardening even a small property can make a big impact. I’ll discuss how native plants support pollinators and other beneficial wildlife, touch on invasive identification and removal, and introduce the ideas of restoration gardening and land ethics. $20 at the door includes class and an informational booklet. Pre-register online at bit.ly/2xAgC8L, registration not required for attendance
